Biography

Tennessee Williams (1911–1983) was a Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright and author, born in Mississippi and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Noted as one of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth century, Williams’s plays continue to be produced around the world. His plays The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and others continue to be produced around the world.
