Maureen Seaton is the author of two previous books of poetry, The Sea among the Cupboards, winner of the Capricorn Award and the Society of Midland Authors Award, and Fear of Subways, winner of the Eighth Mountain Poetry Prize. She has been awarded grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. Her poems have appeared in the Atlantic, New Republic, Kenyon Review, and many other journals and magazines.
