James Clifton is the former Frankenthaler Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, and author of numerous books and essays on cultural and applied anthropology. He is currently scholar-in-residence at Western Michigan University and adjunct professor at the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and he serves as an expert forensic ethnohistorian in treaty rights cases.
