For his work on this volume, James C. Riley was awarded the Ernst Meyer Prize. Professor of history at Indiana University, he is the author of histories of international government finance in the eighteenth century and the Seven Years War in France, as well as The Eighteenth-Century Campaign to Avoid Disease.
