H. Roger Grant is professor and chair of the history department at Clemson University. He has published nineteen books on railroad history, including Living in the Depot: The Two-Story Railroad Station (Iowa, 1993), Railroad Postcards in the Age of Steam (Iowa, 1994), and Railroads in the Heartland: Steam and Traction in the Golden Age of Postcards (Iowa, 1997). He is a native of Albia, Iowa.
