Claudia McGehee of Iowa City is the author of A Tallgrass Prairie Alphabet (Iowa, 2004), which was named a Midwest Favorite by the Upper Midwest Booksellers Association, A Woodland Counting Book (Iowa, 2006), a Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards Gold Medal Winner, and, most recently, Where Do Birds Live? (Iowa 2010). Illustrator of The Iowa Nature Calendar (Iowa, 2007), she has worked primarily in the art medium of scratchboard for many years.
